The Immortal Hunter Quotes

The Immortal Hunter by Lynsay Sands

"Unfortunately, some preferred the old ways, and risked exposing them all by feeding 'off the hoof,' as they called it."
"Most of the time, Decker got a certain amount of satisfaction from protecting his people, as well as mortals, from rogue vampires."
"We're not going anywhere, and who are these two girls you keep talking about?"
"We have to get moving before they start in on these two."
"What's wrong? Who is this Nicholas Argeneau?"
"And no more biting or I'll come deal with you personally."
"I've seen what those bastards do, and I can't just stand here explaining while they cut up those women."
"I didn't expect it to be this easy to track him down."
"You're safe," he said, and when she didn't respond or relax, added, "We just saved your life, lady. You're safe."
"I'd rather not trust my sister's life to some Austin Powers version of a government spy who can't even remember which name he's using as his cover."
"This was a hell of a time for him to finally meet his life mate."
"Smart ass," Decker muttered under his breath as he turned away.
"You know better than that," Decker said dryly.
"We're going to stake the three who were shot with bullets."
"We CSIS guys are the Cute, Strong, Intelligent, and Sexy."
"I'm feeling a little queasy, a little weak, and both wounds were hurting like a son of a bitch."
"What are we going to do?" Justin repeated, interrupting his thoughts.
"I'll see if there's a spare tire in the van."
"I'm sure," Dani said dryly, and then ignored him as she tried to sort out how she'd ended up in the van again.
"He was shot when he ran out into the line of fire to pull you back onto the cliff."
"Everything's fine. We're on the road and, hopefully, soon we'll be able to get a cell signal to call in backup."
"Stop that," Decker muttered, knocking her hand away so that the shirt fell back into place. "I'm driving here."
"You're going to beat them?" he asked uncertainly.
"We're going to stake the three who were shot with bullets. The one with the arrow doesn't need it, but the others are a risk if there isn't something to ensure their heart can't pump."
"It could kill them if we leave the stakes in too long," Justin pointed out quietly.
"He doesn't have my cell phone number," Decker said, glad to be able to answer at least that question and honestly.
"Nicholas might still have the receiver on," she pointed out, and suggested, "You could speak into it and tell him your number and ask him to call you."
"Finding a life mate had also made Mortimer so scattered that they had easily read his mind."
"Women are incredible. Every one a different shape, size, color, even texture."
"It doesn't matter. What matters is that you know that you are safe with them."
"They may seem crazy, but they aren't. You are safe with them. Trust me on this."
"I know none of this is making sense to you, but you just have to trust me," Nicholas said firmly.
"I'm not hungry," he answered contrarily, his gaze shifting to peer out the windshield as Justin slowed to a stop.
"They weren't able to track the SUV. We're to head back to Toronto to coordinate and come up with a plan to track down the man who has your sister."
"I'm sure we'll find somewhere to stop before we run out."
"I understand, but please stay here and let me handle it."
"You've found your life mate. Congratulations."
"Am I the only one who made it through this life mate business with my brains still intact?"
"The reason you don't remember walking over here is because I took control of your mind to bring you here… And I can do that because I'm an immortal… or as you people seem to insist on calling us, a vampire."
"Either get moving now, or you will be going with Eshe."
"You need to explain things and gain her trust if you want her as your life mate."
"The first and most important one is not to feed off of, or harm, mortals."
"I didn't know you were biting her until I heard your curse and looked just now."
"You don't take a mortal's pulse from the boob."
"Besides, maybe if he tucked it back in she'd think the whole thing had been some erotic dream… including the bite part."
"Dear God, she hadn't had one of those since high school."
"It was a rather pleasant view and he'd been tempted to grab it again as he had in the SUV."
"I like her. You have my blessing. But I suggest you stop thinking with your dick and use your brain before you lose her."
"I'm not some brainless twit who needs coddling, Decker."
"But you don't always get what you want, Dani told herself grimly."
"None of it was your fault," Dani said firmly, wanting to help him see that just as he had helped her.
"We do, but not all the time," Decker said. "Besides, there's plenty of bagged blood in the house."
"Don't run from me, Dani," he whispered, his expression intense. "I'll just give chase."
"Now you've gone and done it, Dani McGill," she muttered. "Not only have you had an almost roll in the SUV, you've had a real roll in the hay… Well sort of," she added with a frown as she realized it had been only a half roll.
"Thank you, Decker, that was wonderful. So sorry I fell asleep on you without reciprocating?"
"The shared pleasure is just too much for the mind to handle at first, so the brain winks out."
"I can't believe you gave up sex eighty years ago if it was like what I just experienced."
"Man, it's almost enough to make a gal want to be a vampire if she can experience that."
"We'll find out eventu—" The words ended on a sucked-in breath as Dani gave a silent answer by reaching down to clasp his penis.
"Good Lord, Decker, I can't eat all that," Dani said with dismay as she stared at the cheeseburger, fries, and donut he'd already set before her.
"We need pots and pans and things to cook with," Dani explained, setting a box of frozen chicken in the freezer.
"Women," Decker muttered. "Incredible creatures. Beautiful, sexy, smart, know what they want and how to get it."
"At least physically; he was leaving her to her own thoughts, though."
"I am, and have always been, quite handsome. Don't you think?"
"You're going to be so much fun to play with. I can hardly wait."
"She didn't run," he growled. "She has no reason to run from me."
"Yes, I know. I hit you too hard and now you feel nasty."
"Everyone's checked in and there's no sign of her anywhere."
"A life mate is more valuable than anything else on this earth."
"Trust me, when the hunger hits, you'll tear these two to pieces to suck out every last drop of blood."
"At least try, dammit! You might as well walk back into the next room and use one of my tools to slit your wrists if you won't try."
"You're gonna have to try to stand to help Hazel get you out, girl."
"Five minutes. Surely she could manage to control herself that long?"
"Pain as she'd never experienced ripped her skull apart."
"It's just around the house to the barn and then we're on our way," Hazel said almost pleadingly. "Five minutes and we'll be safe. Please, Dani, try."
"Nobody licks on me but Hazel, girl. Behave yourself."
"You found us. Thank God. Now you can kill me."
"I don't want to be an animal like Leo and that he should just kill me now."
"Perhaps if she kept herself full of blood, she might still be able to live a relatively normal life."
"Better a thief than ending up attacking someone in a frenzy for blood."
"He didn't want the first thing Dani saw on opening her eyes to be him covered in blood."
"It's what sane immortals without fangs are called. You're an edentate, Dani. Only the insane, rogue fangless ones are called no-fangers."
"My immortal, my life mate, my hope for the future, and the woman I love."
"I know. You'll soon learn to recognize the signs."
"If you don't save this girl after all the trouble I've gone to, I'm going to kick your ass."
"Neither of the women is Dani's sister," Lucian growled.
"Dani's not going to take the news well," Justin said unhappily.
"What are we going to do?" Justin asked quietly.
"I had just given her my blood and was about to tie her down when I heard the shots from next door," he said in a hushed voice.
"I love you, Dani McGill, soon to be Maybe-Argeneau-Maybe-Pimms."
"You are not a vamp ho, and while you might have to give up your practice, you can still practice your profession."
"I'm going to be happy," she said suddenly. "And make sure you're happy too."
